"Instant bliss" Asian girl 7x9 female charcoal portrait on Canford paper


In this instant I used white 75 lb Canford paper , I think its made by Daler Rowney, I started generalizing the forms with vine charcoal first to establish the values, vine smears easily so I darken and darken more as it is needed, both with vine and charcoal pencils, these stay on the paper more firmly, the highlights are taken out with a kneaded eraser, edges manipulated with a watercolor brush, minus the water.

  It seems that throughout history certain moods or attitudes were prevalent at certain times, I think the modern era has generated a 'whatever' type of attitude that seems to be trending right now, its mutually accepted ways of behavior that once they reach the critical mass they spread so quickly that they can define a whole generation. I like to share my ideas via visual means, so I hope this drawing conveys this idea and the initial concept that triggered this drawing, in this light, I'm not judgmental, just trying to observe things, feelings, perceptions...
