Sold
9.5" x 6" charcoal and white chalk on paper

I was reading a book that was referencing Cave Art and the first ever recorded cave drawings our ancestral primal artists did 35 - 40.000 years ago in France and Italy and it seems that some of this drawings and paintings were made with charcoal and some combination of red ochre that were embedded in the cave's surface, it seems like not much has changed, the modern artist is still using this tool just as the primitive artist found it useful back then in the caves, I guess the expression might have changed, but a handy tool like charcoal is still very handy today:)

Sometimes I like doing an impressionistic drawing like this outlining just the general features of the figure or just trying to catch the light that's predominate in the image without paying too much attention to details.

A tiny little portrait, I used a photograph for reference but I never go for a literal translation of it, I modify the tonal values and the focal point according to my initial impulse I have for that given image.

Rebirth (male nude study)

9.5" x 6.5" charcoal and white chalk on paper

Well, I thought I'd post a more elaborate drawing other then my sketches here which are aimed usually to capture the spontaneity of the moment, this drawing took around an hour and 45min in the making so I had more time to develop it further, maybe I should do more of this drawings(-:
The rebirth signifies the ability to recreate one's self and experience something profoundly new in the same lifetime interval.

The vision

Sold
9.5" x 6" pastel and charcoal on paper

I've set up this composition this way so it emphasizes the intention of the face with the fixed gaze and wanted to convey a certain spiritual feeling within the parameters of the drawing, like there's an illumination or enlightenment that's being revealed to the figure.
