Mind before matter (male nude study)

SOLD
6.5" x 8.5" Charcoal with pastel highlights on paper

The premise for this drawing was 'wherever the mind goes, the body will follow', the pose that I used in the drawing is suggesting movement even though it's static, as you probably notice there's a diagonal that suggests a vertical direction in the drawing which was my main idea for this piece.

charcoal on paper

Here's another female nude in a vase pose (that's what I like to call it), I think it shows the grace of the female form since it expands the body upwards and it gives a classical kinda posture, I used a paper with more tooth in this one as it is obvious and it's harder to fill it in with the charcoal but allows more layering this way even though I usually draw in a very direct way without too much concern for a slowly built up rendering.

SOLD
7" x 8" Pastel and Charcoal on paper

This was a rather odd composition that I was experimenting with, placing the figure almost in the middle and descending it beyond the paper's frame, similar compositions were used in Baroque with the goal of creating more tension and drama.
